1About this policy

This Cookie Policy explains how RampVera Limited (“RampVera”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on rampvera.com, including our marketing pages and the RampVera application.

It covers both visitors to our public website and users of the RampVera platform. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains more broadly how we handle personal data.

If you are an employee of an organisation that uses RampVera, note that your employer is the data controller for the content you create in the platform. We remain the controller for the cookies described here, because they relate to the operation of the site and the application itself.

2What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device when you visit a website. Cookies let a site recognise your browser across page loads and visits, for example, to keep you signed in.

Other technologies can store information on your device in a similar way, including the browser storage known as localStorage and sessionStorage. RampVera does not currently use either of them. Where this policy refers to “cookies”, it means all of these technologies unless stated otherwise.

Cookies are described as first-party when set by rampvera.com itself, and third-party when set by another organisation whose service we have embedded in our pages.

3Your choices

We use strictly necessary cookies only.

Strictly necessary cookies keep the service working. They sign you in, protect forms against attack, and route your requests to the right server. RampVera cannot function without them, and the law does not require us to ask permission for cookies that are essential to a service you have asked for, so we set them without asking. You can still block them in your browser, but you will not be able to sign in.

We set nothing else. No analytics, no advertising, no retargeting, and nothing that follows you to another website. We do not measure which pages you visit and we do not build a profile of your visit.

Why we still ask. When you first arrive, a notice asks whether you accept all cookies, only the essential ones, or want to choose category by category. Because everything we currently set is strictly necessary, declining removes nothing; there is nothing optional here to remove. What your answer does is settle the question in advance: if you have declined, nothing optional will be set for you if we ever add it, and you will be asked again before anything changes. We remember your answer for six months and then ask afresh.

What we record is only which categories you allowed: a short list of names, not a note of what you refused. That is deliberate: a category invented after you answered cannot appear in a list written before it existed, so anything new is switched off for you until you are asked about it.

If that changes, we will ask you first. Any non-essential cookie would be introduced with a consent notice that sets nothing before you agree, declining would be as easy as accepting and would not restrict your access to anything on the site, and this page would be updated to describe exactly what is set and for how long. Our Privacy Policy sets out the legal bases we rely on and your rights in full.

4Cookies we use

4.1  Strictly necessary

Name Provider Purpose Type Expires
_rampvera_webapp_ror_session RampVerafirst party Maintains your session across requests and carries the token that protects forms against cross-site request forgery. HTTP cookie End of browser session
session_id RampVerafirst party Signed cookie identifying your authenticated session, so you stay signed in between requests. Set only when you sign in. HTTP cookie End of browser session, or 20 years if you tick “Remember me” when signing in
rampvera_cookie_consent RampVerafirst party Records which cookie categories you accepted or declined, so we do not ask again on every page. It holds a short list of category names and nothing else: no identifier, and nothing that describes you. HTTP cookie 6 months
AWSALBTG, AWSALBTGCORS Amazon Web Services Load balancer session affinity: routes your requests to the same server so your session stays consistent. HTTP cookie 7 days

4.2  Analytics

We do not use analytics cookies. RampVera has no analytics tool deployed on this site or in the application.

If we introduce analytics, we will ask for your consent before anything is set, and this section will name the tool, list every cookie it sets and say how long each one lasts.

4.3  What we do not use

We do not use advertising or retargeting cookies, we do not embed social media tracking pixels, and we do not sell or share your data with advertising networks.

5Controlling cookies in your browser

Independently of this policy, you can manage cookies through your browser settings: blocking them, deleting those already stored, or asking to be warned before one is set. Instructions are available for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in to RampVera and will stop parts of the application from working.

6Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability, under the GDPR. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@rampvera.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Ours is the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie), but you may also complain to the authority in your own country of residence. In Germany, that is your state or federal Data Protection Commissioner.

7Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services and the technologies we use change. When we make material changes to the cookies we set, we will update the date at the top of this page. If we ever introduce cookies that need your consent, we will ask you for it before setting them rather than relying on this page having changed.
